Who is the Fern Programme for?

People will often come to The Fern Programme, when everything they have tried, just isn't working.  You won't be new to this journey so at least around 6 months in. 


You will ideally have joined us live for the Rest Repair Recover programme for a while and begun the journey of doing complementary work on your nervous system before you start with us on Fern.


Most of our clients tend to experience a boom-bust recovery pattern, exposing themselves to post exertional malaise (PEM) and bouts of chronic fatigue with brain fog plus many other symptoms that will be specific to you. 

Along with the mental challenges of losing independence, the ability to work, to socialise and everything else that 'normal life' might involve, you will be ready to try a different and supported approach with a small and well managed group of other people who really ''get it'.


We work with the three pillars of wellbeing:


Mind

We listen to you.  We hear your story. 

We help you identify any pieces of the puzzle that might be preventing you from moving forward.

We help you develop a mind set that allows you to believe that recovery is possible in order for the brain to work with us and we can set a clear direction of travel. 

Let us be clear, your symptoms are NOT all in the mind, but the brain can play a detrimental role in recovery sometimes by 'getting in the way' of what needs to happen by developing a panic response to 'regular life'. The body can't repair until the brain gives the 'all clear, it's safe to recover' message, which can get lost if you are overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and fed-up.


Body

We work with your physical body, finding the absolute base line for you to begin working to recondition and ease yourself in a way that does not trigger any stress response or negative physical reactions. We help you re-tone your Vagus Nerve and soothe the Autonomic Nervous System, helping it switch into the Parasympathetic repair mode *


Soul

We gently tease you back into life with laughter, compassion and empathy. 

Supporting you to find joy, gratitude and contentment in your life once again. 

Finding acceptance around what has happened can be key to moving forwards and is often the most difficult part of the journey.


*Please note, if you have organ damage we will need you to get an all clear from your medical professional to start our gentle recovery programme.
