The Fern Programme

A seven week journey towards a happier, healthier you


 What's involved?


It all starts with an initial group conversation.


We want to hear your story, understand the whole picture and find out where you are on your journey. 


Suzy Bolt will work with the group to help you see what areas of your life need a refocus and help you feel part of a group of inspiring cheerleaders as you move through the weeks.  We can become stuck in a cycle of fear with long term health issues, this fear can keep us safe but also hold us back.  As a group, we explore what you might be doing that could be keeping you stuck and into switching your focus to re-engaging with joy. We follow a 5% stretch protocol - to simply do 5% of the things you love - begin to remind yourself of what's you can do rather than what you can't.


From there, we will devise the right stepping stones to help support you on your way.  It's not an exercise programme, so the physical sessions are all very gentle and suitable for any level.

Our programme involves :


  • 7 group coaching sessions with Suzy Bolt
  • 6 physical/movement sessions with Ross Cooper
  • 6 Yoga Breathe/Yoga Nidra sessions with either Caroline Phipps or Hannah Dallison
  • 1 Nutrition workshop with Holly Penfold
  • The Fern Programme runs for approx 7 weeks


In total there are 20 group sessions including the coaching/nutrition only first week. 


Coaching sessions are 90 minutes.

Reconditioning & Yoga sessions are 45 minutes.

The Nutrition workshop with Holly will be a one off, 1hr 15mins workshop.


Firstly you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire to get us up to speed with everything that's been going on with you.

The first session with Suzy will help us as a team to work out what you need mentally and emotionally both individually and as a group. 

You will meet with Holly next and get the ball rolling with some great tips on how you could further improve your gut biome and nutrition levels to help feed your recovery.

 

Ross will then assess you physically and design a bespoke gentle, movement programme to suit your needs.

It's simple stuff and effective, nothing like you will have done in the gym or in a class.  You don't need to participate at all if you are not ready, but its fun to show up with your Fern team and have some fun.


Our mantra is 'less is more'.


You will either work with Hannah Dallison, Richard Husseiny or Caroline Phipps on the sessions focussed on Breathe work and deep rest/relaxation.   The work is all about calming the autonomic nervous system, so deep rest to soothe and heal.


The coaching sessions can be long - 90 mins

 

You can have your camera off at times if you prefer, be in bed, stop half way through and watch the session on catch up. 

So far, nearly all attendees have found the sessions surprisingly manageable but its fine to leave half way through and watch the rest later!

The coaching sessions will help you gently open your lives back up again to create space for more than just your illness and the group support will inspire and encourage you to try things out in a safe and comfortable manner.

We then begin to teach you the art of deep, conscious rest alongside working on loosening the grip of 'fear of relapse' and help you take the tentative steps back to a normal life.

Our focus is on retraining your Autonomic Nervous System - not getting you fit.


We listen, encourage and gently guide you along the way.

All of your sessions with us will be recorded so that you have access to them for 48hrs afterwards if you want to rewatch.

Cost is £299 for the whole programme.

Every programme follows exactly the same format but is adapted to suit the needs of the group.  The Yoga/breath and reconditioning sessions are held on different days to the coaching sessions.  See the sign up page for more info.
